Help with trip Itinerary
 

Hi all,

Requesting any and all advice!!

My husband and I are taking a trip to Santa Curz, Chile for work reasons. We will be in Santa Crus 2-6 Jan, and in Chile from 27 Dec - 8 Jan.

My plan was to arrive in Santiago, then spend 27 Dec - 2 Jan in Valparaiso and Vina del Mar. I have read that the cities are charming and that new years eve is great over there.
However, I have had some negative feedback and am now considering staying in Santiago the whole time and taking day trips to surrounding sites/cities...any advice?

To summarize, I am considering whether to spend 27 dec - 2 Jan
1. staying in Valpariaso/Vina del mar
or
2. staying in Santiago and just taking day-trips to those and other towns
