You can even save a little money by taking the city bus from the Sheraton into town. The hotel staff will show you where the hotel bus stop is. We don't speak Spanish and had zero problems with it.

We did take the bus partway from the Sheraton to Brazil. However, I did not like the part about being left on the highway in the middle of nowhere when we had to do a bus transfer, and I insisted on taking a taxi at that point.

On the way back from Brazil, we took buses all the way back to the Sheraton.

The city bus stops running fairly early in the evening, so when we went out to dinner in Puerto Iguazu, we had to take a taxi back to the Sheraton. The restaurant (La Rueda 1975) was kind enough to call a cab for us.

Just wanted to update here with how our trip went (will post TR soon!). We ended up starting in the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest, continuing on to Peru and Machu Picchu, then onto my favorite part of the trip, Iguacu Falls. Finally, we finished up with 3 days in Rio, which was lovely to see, although I am not desperate to go back. It was a fast-paced trip, but overall I am glad we didn't linger in places like Lima.

If we get the chance to go to SA in the winter I would love to explore Argentina and the Patagonia region...
