Good neighborhood and hotel in Santiago, Chile

We'll be spending the night in Santiago prior to leaving on a cruise. We've never been there and would appreciate suggestions for a good neighborhood and hotel. From my research so far, it seems Providencia would be a good area to stay. I've checked TripAdvisor and have some good reviews on Hotel Orly and Hotel Meridiano Petit. Anyone familiar with either of these? We don't want to spend more than $200.00.

Santiago Park Plaza is a nice hotel in Providencia. I think we paid around $180.00 last March with a wonderful breakfast included. Good location too.

Both your choices are very good. However, they are often booked months ahead. I would try them now and then you have time for other choices if they are full.

If they are full you might consider the Best Western Los Espanoles. It is walking distance just across the river to Providencia and also to Bellavista. I was very pleased with location and the rates are reasonable. Best of all it was easy to book on line, and there is a senior discount.

Thanks for your suggestions. We're going to make some phone calls today in the hope of getting a place reserved.
