Good beach and city in Brazil?

We are trying to plan a honeymoon in Brazil (at first we wanted to include Manu, Peru also but this might be too hopeful). We want to see Pantanal & Bonito, and also fell in love with Uakari Floating Lodge. Now we just have to pick a romantic city and a beach that fits in with these plans. I am aiming for a beach with calm waves that has great snorkeling right off shore. For a city, we would like something maybe off the beaten track, culture and beauty is a factor. Somewhere with cobblestone streets, architecture, restaurants to "discover", etc. It does not have to be a major city. Also, we love unique hotels such as where you can sleep in a tree house, in a hammock outside, over water, etc. Any recommendations such as these and we will be sold!

Does anyone have any ideas? Do you think its possible to accomplish all this in 14-16 days, with $9,000 USD and still do it honeymoon-style?

Asia is more exotic and romantic and cheaper best value

but for SA/Brazil Rio/Manaus www.brazilnuts.com has

lots of nice upscale choice itineraries for you.

Doable on your budget but think Thailand/Cambodia

better for HM more exotic and romantic.

Congrats!

If you are looking for luxury options in Brazil those have become very expensive over the past couple of years, especially in view of the strength of the Real. If you want outstanding beaches and "exotic" look to north east Brazil.
