Four Seasons or Alvear Palace????

These two hotels sound fabulous. Which one would you recommend? They are close together and the same high quality. Thoughts?? We are a family of four with two sons 27 and 29 who love traveling! First time in South America!

We stayed in both, one at the beginning and the other at the end of a trip to Argentina and points south. They are both very nice but, we really liked Alvear Palace much better. The Hotel is really special in every way and we liked the blocks around the hotel better.

If you are looking for a bit of old world charm class and a different feel, go for the Alvear.

Four Seasons is a very nice hotel, but is nothing different than many others

I agree with cwn. The reason it has "a bit of old world charm class and a different feel" could be that it is locally owned.

I hope you like the idea of supporting local businesses.

Have a great time in our country.

The Alvear is truly a beautiful beautiful hotel !
The Four Seasons is just another nice Four Seasons.
I might have to think about it if you asked about the Alvear vs the Hyatt Palacio but here, the Alvear would be my choice.

The Alvear is lovely. We didn't stay at the Four Seasons but were shocked when we saw how close it was to a busy highway.
The Alvear is special and in a better location.

Good choice! Haven't stayed there, but had cocktails at the bar, really fabulous old world ambiance.

Another plus is that the Eternaus historic tours of Buenos Aires meet in the Alvear lobby.

I have stayed at the Four Seasons twice, both times in rooms facing the mansion. Very quiet. One advantage of the FS is the pool which was great as it was very warm during both my stays.

All things considered, I preferred the Legado Mitico. Great location, beautiful rooms and much less expensive.
