Flights on LAN
As of this writing, if you have tickets on LAN to fly in/out of Argentina and also for flights within our country, your travel plans are most likely to suffer significant alterations.
Our "government" has decided it doesn't want competition for its Aerolineas Argentinas. See: http://www.buenosairesherald.com/art...-provider-woes and in Spanish: http://www.lanacion.com.ar/1583190-p...n-la-argentina I'm sorry to be the bearer of such bad news, but it is better for forum members to be prepared for this serious setback to their travel plans. |
The newspaper says LAN started operating again this morning:

I love your "government" in brackets. Couldn't be more easier to understand!!!

I have several friends who are TA DEs.
I pointed out this problem to one of them and now they have a thread about it: http://tinyurl.com/b2ksws6 |
Hola avr--
Luckily I caught a price markdown on AA the other night and got our flights to/from SA for the same price as on LAN. Our flights to/from IGF are still on LAN. Hopefully by Nov things will settle down a bit. If not, well, that's what travel insurance and credit cards are for. We would be disappointed not to see the falls, but I'm sure we'd enjoy a couple more days in BA. |
Great, mowmow!
Let's hope you do not miss our Iguazú Falls! Have a great time in our country. |
