Driving from Balmaceda to Puerto Aysen

I have a client that wants to drive from Balmaceda to Puerto Aysen. She is wanting to rent a car and drive with her daughter, who is 22. Are the roads safe, would they be safe, and does she need 4 wheel drive? Need some advice

Is there a reason they want to drive this themselves? Will they be returning the car to Balmaceda? During the summer months? One way rentals are extremely expensive and there are transfers available. They might have to do it in two portions: Balmaceda to Coyhaique and from there to Puerto Aysen. The road is not paved the whole way but perfectly safe if a proper speed limit is observed. There is no need for a 4X4 but high clearance is best. I would not drive it outside of the summer months.

Yes she is flying into Balmaceda she will then drive the Puerto Auysen and then she would keep the car until she flies back out 3 days later from Balmaceda.
