Day trip to Cartagena what to do

We are arriving by Cruise ship and I hate to take ship tours. I have found them to be highly overpriced and lacking.

There are 2 of us...and we arrive April 27th this year. We are only in port for a short time. We are docked by 7 am and leave by 2pm. Does anyone have any suggestions, taxi, small local tour companies or a day driver that we could hire?

Or are they any suggestions of things to see in such a short time? A nice place to eat lunch maybe?
Thanks
