Day tours from Salta Argentina
We are headed to Argentina including 6 nights in Salta. We will not have a car and we are interested in any recommendations for a good tour company. We want to include a day trip to Cafayate as well as visiting some local vineyards so that we can try lots of Torrentes. Any recommendations for us?

Strongly suggest you contact Angie Valdez who often posts here as "Flintstones". She continually gets good reviews and was a font of wisdom when I was planning our trip to Salta and the NW. I think this is here current email address [email protected]
PS She has also posted a great recipe for empanadas on this forum which we tried and they were delicious! Thanks Angie! |
I second local expert's crellston great suggestion. You can research Angie by typing her name in the search feature of TA's Argentina forum http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowForum...Argentina.html
However, keep in mind that Angie is NOT a "tour company", but rather a top independent individual guide. Please be sure to copy ALL of Angie's e-mail [email protected] Have a great time in our country. |
Furthermore, in the recent "Best guide for Salta and the Northwest" thread in this forum you will find further comments about her services.

YOu might also want to check out related threads on Trip Advisor: Salta/Northwest Forum. Angie is an excellent guide as are several others.
As you are interested in Torrentes and visiting vineyards, you might want to spend 1-2 nights in Cafayate - a charming town to stay in - rather than just passing through. You are alloting enough days to really enjoy the Northwest. ~MarnieWDC |
Great advise Marmie, Spend one or two nights let you enjoy the place better and the wines, of course. Day trips do not give you more chances that only one winery.
Cafayate is a nice place to stay in. Aand if you are looking for a great restaurant, EL TERRUNO, in front of the mains square is THE option. If you spend a night or two do not miss PAchamama Museum in Amaicha (60 kms further siuth from Cafyate) Certainly a day is not enough!!!!! And do not miss Purmamarca and the salt flats in the northern area!!!Jujuy provicne has also a lot to offer and you can do it based in SALTA. Warm regards, Angie |
