Cusco to Ollantaytambo via Salt Flats
 

Hi all - we are visiting Peru in late July/early August. We are staying a night in Ollantaytambo prior to heading to Machu Picchu. I would like to visit the Salinas de Maras en route to Ollantaytambo (from Cusco). Does anyone have any car service/taxi recommendations to do this? What should we expect cost wise?

Try taxidatum.com they are now providing service in Cusco.

They will give you a fair quote. July and August are peak season so you may not have much leeway in negotiations.

We used them when we flew into Cusco and headed straight to Ollantaytambo. They charged $37 for a sedan or $55 for a van for 4 of us. We made an unplanned stop at a mirador near Chinchero but otherwise didn't make stops, so I'm not sure what stopping at Las Salineras might add to the cost. Happy trails!
