We are considering doing this trip in December, preferably the 2 day.Has anyone done this and do you have any tips or info. Family of 4, boys 15 and 20. Thanks.

We did this on our first visit to AR, it's a wonderful trip, the scenery is magnificent, and if you have a nice fall day, it'll be unforgettable!

We did the one day trip in March 2005, we met people who did the two day, told us we were lucky we didn't choose this. The overnight is on an island with one hotel and not much to do (unless this has changed) We had about a two hour "layover" there and had lunch in the hotel, which was just ok and felt it gave us plenty of time to explore.

If you decide to do this, they pick you up at your hotel, take your luggage (which you don't see until the end of the trip) and guide you along the way.

We did the two day cruise in March 2009 and are glad we stopped overnight in Peulla. We were told to be in our hotel in Bariloche at 6:30 am for pick up and didn't arrive at the hotel in Puerto Varas until almost 9 pm the second day. We were happy to stop and stayed at Hotel Natura in Peulla, a beautiful new rustic style lodge with excellent, sophisticated dining. They also own the older Hotel Peulla next door.
Activites available in Peulla included a zip line,and kayaking among other options. We took a hike by ourselves.
The trip is very pretty and reminded us of the Adirondacks in NY state and its lakes,with the addition of volcanoes. Its a nice way to travel between Argentina and Chile. We were surprised by the lengthy border crossing process in both countries' passport control/customs centers there.

Thank you for the info. We were thinking of doing the 2 days as I was concerned the 1 day would be rather exhausting.

Is it better doing one route as opposed to the other.

We did the one day. . It is personal choice. This is a wonderful trip, the weather plays an important factor because one of the main assets is the view of volcanos and mountains by the lakes. It is amazing. So if you can check the weather, you do not have to buy the ticket ages before.
When we did it ,it was also very inexpensive. We went from Bariloche to Puerto Varas, stayed a few days there and then took a Chilean bus for us$15 back to Bariloche. This was a modern, ac bus. reserved seats. WE bought a few sandwiches for the trip because it was lunch time, and ate everything before getting to the Border because you cannot take food into either country.
In the hotel in Peulla, kind of the middle of the trip ,we had a good grilled salmon lunch with good Chilean white wine, the one day trip was not too much, since we were left at the door of the hotel we had chosen by the lake in Puerto Varas.

BTW because I noticed that you have asked for WOW argentina in general, it just happens that they arranged for our trip to Bariloche. As I said before I was very pleased with them .

Thank you all. I appreciate the tips. We have decided on the 1 day trip and will spend an extra night in Puerto Varas.
I think it will be more practical with packing/unpacking etc.
