Hi, Can anyone tell me if the Rio Carnival is good?

I have been many times... it is great.

Here are some posts I've made about Carnaval.

it is phenomenal --- went two years in a row --- have trekked to many countries looking for as much fun as we had there - NOT TO BE FOUND .......

Am going back after 25 years .......

I am here to tell you ....... Venice and Trinidad have something remotely similar -- but IT WAS NEVER LIKE RIO ..........

I think Carnival in Salvador, Bahia, is much better than in Rio, but it all depends on your age, tastes, fears, etc. For older couples, Rio is probably better.

The premiere of "carnivals" is in Rio de janeiro. I went in 2003 and plan to return. I'd highly use the words of idtc: "it is phenomenal." Take the plunge and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. It is one life experience that is unforgettable in many respects.
