Bus from Puerto Montt to Castro,Chile
 

How does one take the bus from the airport in Puerto Montt to go to Castro, Chiloe via ferry?

Any idea on what the cost might be and how long this ride might be?

Necessary to book tickets in advance for early December?

Any insight would be appreciated. thanks

You have to get to the bus station in Puerto Montt and there you will find buses to Chiloe. There are lots of departures during the day. The bus/ferry is one ticket and should cost under US$20. From the terminal in PM to Castro is about 3-3.5 hours in total. You can't book online unless you have a Chilean issued credit card, but you should be able to find seats on a bus easily.
