Buenos Aires weather in August
 

Hello - trying to take my daughter and her friend for a trip after the college semester ends. I'd suggested Buenos Aires before finding out that my idea of the end of May is not good for daughter/friend, and they're saying early August (probably about July 27 to August 5th, realistically) would work.
Please help me with weather info for that time period. Realizing it's winter, does that mean not much rain, with temps spending most of the daylight hours in the upper 50s?? They just spent January in Seville and had a great time, so I'm thinking that we may have to go with it, and just be ready to layer up.
I'd hoped to head out to one of the ranches (read about them here on Fodors) for an overnight - does anyone know if they're available and pleasant during the winter?

www.weatherunderground.com has an almanac feature that lets you look at weather conditions for the past several years on specific dates. This should give you a good idea of what to expect. I would not be too excited about a trip to an estancia in late July or early August due to humid and chilly conditions...but the city itself remains vibrant during winter, even when the weather is gray and dreary.

thanks, drdawggy - you've clarified well for me (and I will check the almanac right away.) My daughter's home this weekend from school for Easter and the idea of "even when the weather is gray and dreary" drew a definite reaction!

I believe you could go to an estancia as a day trip, choosing a day with a good weather forecast.

I could be sort of "crisp cold", but, if the sun is shining, it should be quite nice.
