Buenos Aires to the Falls

I am, as I usually do, planning to fly from Miami to BA and would like to fly on from BA to Iguazu later the same arrival day. From looking at various airline and flight related websites I gather it is more economical to fly from BA to the airport on the Argentinian side of the falls.

Planning on perhaps staying at the Belmond Hotel for two nights then fly back to BA for several hotel nights there. Will fly on to Rio for some nights there before returning to Miami.

Will plan on traveling in Feb (2017) but will absolutely avoid Carnival period. Am aware of entry/visa requirements. Am not familiar with the EZE airport or how much time to allow between arrival from Miami and departure to Iguazu.

Appreciate any helpful comments. I prefer to avoid using travel agents especially if I can make more suitable arrangements on my own. Am assuming the falls area does not require any sort of package tour to be experienced.

Thanks in advance

The falls area is very easy and straightforward to get around on your own, whether by local public bus or taxi.
You'll want to see both sides of the park, the Bird Park (near the entrance to Brazil park) and take a ride under Devil's Throat (from either side). Maybe take a heli ride over the falls and/or see the dam.

Lots of resort type hotels on the road from Foz to the park if you don't stay at the (Belmond) Cataratas.

Curious why you'd return to BsAs and then on to Rio, instead of flying from IGU (Brazil side airport) direct to Rio?

Agree that I am puzzled why you would return to BA. Easy enough to get to the airport on the Brazilian side and fly on to Rio. Especially as you seem to be ticketing the flight from BA separately from the international flight.

I was planning to fly to BA from Mia and then go immediately to the falls rather than staying in BAband then going to the falls. Will re-think that notion even though I suspect bybthe time we get tobthe falls we would not be hearingvthe dreaded, "the room is not ready."

I appreciate your suggestions and thanks for taking the time to make them.

Carnival in Buenos Aires is not a problem or even crowded...so, just to keep in mind.

Iguazu to Iguacu to Rio is very good advice, Dukey1; you could spend a few days in BsAs before flying to Iguazu (then fly from AEP, the domestic, more central airport) and depart from Rio to MIA at the end of your trip.

Definitely, you do not need guides on either side of the Falls.

EZE airport ? Think Chicago O'Hare :( Though AEP is considerably more manageable and humane.

Hope your trip is wonderful...
