Lady from my favorite state of Georgia:

Just start asking questions!

A separate thread would be better, IMO.

Y'all will have a great time in my country.

crosscheck and Continental_Drifter:

Perhaps you should read this thread:

before meeting "av".

After almost 5 long years, I am able to laugh about it, which certainly was NOT the case at the time. LOL!!!!

Crosscheck - we used UrbanBiking.com. They had been recommended here on Fodors and also turned out to be the company our hotel used. We did two tours with them and they were great!! We did their South tour and then also their Tigre Delta tour with kayaking.

Novices. That old post doesn't concern me in the least, but i comsoder myself duly warned. Just kidding, of course. I would so welcome a tour of the city and dinner wi portenos! They sound like rather inexperienced travelers. I can't imagine why they (1) were financially unprepared and (2) would not have insisted on treating you and your wife to dinner. ...or at the very least following custom regarding the check if you insisted.

We would have been most pleased to go to your non-touristy restaurant selection.

And I speak a fair amount of Spanish. DH can follow but just knows some phrases and important vocabulary.

Continental: I didn't "insist" on anything. If this guy had said he wanted each to pay his part, we would have done the math. But my knee was hurting badly and I wanted to get out of there ASAP! So, I tried to make it simple. LOL!!!

av, Now that I find out about the controversy, I just might try to make a meeting work. Would add conflict and intrigue to my trip report. What is your email?

avrooster Sep 25th, 2013 09:47 AM

It's all over this forum, crosscheck: albertovgalloATyahoo.com

At my advanced age, conflict and intrigue work for me. LOL!!!

Continental_Drifter Sep 25th, 2013 03:29 PM

LOL... No, avrooster. I just meant that if you, as our kind host/guide INSISTED, we would let you contribute to the check if that's custom.

It would be most pleasing to make it our treat.

At the non-touristy place. :)
