Brazil Help!

I am going to be travelling to Brazil again for work at the beginning of next month. I will be in a business park outside of Sao Paolo from the 1st to the 5th of July, but then will have the weekend to myself to explore. I leave on Monday, at 4:00PM, out of Sao Paolo, but have Friday, Saturday and Sunday night to do what I like. My question is, what should I do with my weekend? I want to explore a good area, but not sure it would be worth flying a long distantce for such a short trip.

1 - should I stay and explore Sao Paolo over the weekend

2 - should I fly to Rio for the weekend (I did this last time and loved it)

3 - are there any local cities/beaches I should try to get to that are cool

Let me know, would be keen to book soon and I really want to make the most of my short time there!

Thanks in advnace.

Can you tell us what your interests are? It's hard to recommend where to go or stay without knowing what you like. For example, are you interested in art, architecture, historical towns, sport, gardens?

Hi Aussie,
Guaruja looks like a very nice coastal town with beaches residents from São Paolo apparently like to visit for weekends, etc. I won't be there until December, but you can google and see what you think. If you go to Guaruja, would you please report back. Thanks!

I understand the traffic is horrendous from São Paulo to Santos due to all the construction re 2016 Summer Olympic Games & 2014 World Cup games. You may decide to stay put and explore São Paulo.
