Bariloche or Villa La Angostura in Argentina Lake District
 

My husband and I are in our mid 60's and will be spending 4 nights in the Argentina Lake District in February. We are primarily interested in easy to moderate day hikes. Should we stay in Bariloche or Villa La Angostura? Or should we stay 2 nights in each location?

I would split your time between the two. Also consider San Martin de Los Andes. The drive between San Martin and Bariloche is quite something. Bariloche itself, I didn’t really care for but some love it.

Villa La Angostura is very small and Bariloche is really a small city. Without a car Bariloche is probably easier as a lot of the lodging for VLA is outside the actual town. I am not very fond of Bariloche although the setting is dramatic and there may be more activities for you to do.
