Bahia Advice -- Arraial D' Ajuda vs Trancoso

Jump to last reply

Hi. I'm traveling with a couple of friends to Brazil in March. We're spending a few days in Rio and then four nights/five days in Bahia. We've narrowed it down to Arraial D' Ajuda and/or Trancoso and I was hoping someone would be able to help with a few of our questions...

Any thoughts on Arraial D' Ajuda vs. Trancoso? Should we spend two nights in each place? Or all four in one place? Trancoso seems much quieter, particularly at this time of year. We're three girls in our 30's... we don't need a crazy party scene but we don't want to stay somewhere completely quiet either. Thoughts?

Any hotel/pousada suggestions in either of these places? We're looking for a clean, mid-range place that's close to the beach (or on it) with a short walk to bars/restaurants.

Any other thoughts/suggestions are welcome and thank you in advance for your help!
