Graziella,
What I meant, and sorry if the message was not clear, I did not want to go into too many details, was that if you stay at the Sheraton, there is no need to pre-book any Iguazu activity. You can do that in the hotel’s lobby.

We pre-booked the falls boat adventure through WOW, and due to time and weather constraints did not take it. We asked the guy in the hotel’s lobby who was selling tickets for that boat adventure if we could get a refund, and he said “yes”, all tickets are refundable, but then he realized that we did not book through him, but a different agency (he had only exchanged our vouchers received from WOW to real tickets). He said that the selling agency should process the refund, and he suggested we talk to the driver who will take us to the airport (also booked through WOW), and he would be able to contact the agency for us.

We did that, and the diver called “the agency” (not sure if his agency in Iguazu or WOW, since I do not speak Spanish). He said that he was supposed to get our tickets, and an agency representative will meet us at the airport in Buenos Aires and give us the refund. Needless to say, nobody waited for us, and when we contacted Cintia and told her the entire story, she said that the tickets were non-refundable.

There is a possibility that the driver misled us and only took our tickets to resell them (which is a possibility, since we do not speak Spanish and cannot be 100% of his conversation). Cintia knows all the details, and if she really cares about her customers being treated honestly, she should inquire with the agency she uses in Iguazu. From my point of view, at some level, some dishonesty occurred.

In the end, my original advice is the same: if you stay at the Sheraton, or even you don’t, you don’t need to pre-book any Iguazu activity. You can buy tickets for all the activities offered in the park on the day of the activity, and if for whatever reason you cannot use the tickets, you can get your refund.

This was not meant to be in any shape or form a complaint against Cintia (or WOW) who as I said earlier, delivered everything they promised. We usually plan all the trips on our own, but the logistics of this one were more complicated. Cintia made additional recommendations for our itinerary, and they were all great. We were not crazy about some of the hotel choices, but these would’ve been the same hotels I would have booked, if I had made all the arrangements myself. In the end we loved Argentina and we’ll probably go back someday.

Sorry, this ended up longer than I intended.
