BA transportation apps
 

Yesterday I posted here a link to an article in the leading Argentine newspaper about transportation apps which should be helpful for visitors to my town, meaning Buenos Aires.

That post is no longer here. I have to wonder why, as it could only help forum members or readers who come to BA. Maybe it was because there was a long paragraph in Spanish?

Anyway, I have been posting here since 2005, helping any number of people who wish to come to my country and I hold open invitations to stay at the homes of active forum members (some of them hold the lofty title of TA DEs) from New York to LA and from Texas to Minnesota, which should tell you something.

So, as I'm quite technically ignorant, I'll just mention the names of these apps:

1) Moovit http://www.moovitapp.com/
2) Cómo llego http://comollego.ba.gob.ar/ is the city government's app
3) Trenes en vivo http://trenes.mininterior.gov.ar/apps/web_/#Lineas is for trains,
4) Buenos Aires Cortes http://movilidad.buenosaires.gob.ar/mapa-corte-calles/ warns you of transit problems in BA,
5) Waze https://www.waze.com/ does about the same,
6) For help with cabs, you have http://safertaxi.com/ and http://www.easytaxi.com/ar

Have a great time in my town, using your cell and these apps to help you get around.

I cannot imagine why such a thread would be removed.

These links to Transportation lnformation for Buenos Aires are very helpful and useful to tourists - new and return visitors alike.

alberto, fodors has gotten very selective in a non-democratic way of purging what offends THEM. don't take offense at it. we have all experienced it.

you have certainly been the #1 source of info on BA and A in general.

cannot understand why the forum would remove posts that are actually helpful for visitors to BA.
Wish we would have had access to them while we were there.
