Auto Gas

We are driving through Peru for 10 days in a rented car and I just wanted to know if anyone could tell me what the approx. price of fuel is per gallon? I am just trying to plan my budget.
Thanks

Depending on grade budget $4-5 per gallon I Rent many places not in Peru car/driver/guide always cheaper $50/half day of travel for me.Insurance high lots of shakedowns theft including police for bribes and tarifs high on any decent roads. Driving in Peru is not for the faint of heart. Be prepared to carry cash in-hand to pay for any damages you may cause in an accident, on the spot. This ranges from 100 soles ($30) on up, depending on the car and the damages. You will also need an international driving document, your US license accompanying this. It can be gotten in the US at your local AAA club. When I did this clulessly a decade ago spent $1K for
a week 500% more than many other countries I rent in like
CostaRica.Plus LOTS more hassle stress.

Just a heads up...

I agree really no good reason to rent a car you can get a driver for less hassle and not more money.

For longer distances fly Star Peru or Peruvian Airlines if the LAN domestic prices make you sick.
