Asuncion to Salta options

There's a chance I may be in Asuncion next May and I'm wondering about transportation options from there to Salta.

Angie/Flinstones (or anyone else) - do you know about direct buses from Asuncion to Salta or do they all transfer via Resistencia? Any idea of how long it takes? Websites for buses?

I'll be in Argentina this Sept./Oct., but spending most of my time in Patagonia. I was in the NW last September and loved it, didn't see enough!

Thanks for any help, am posting this in both Argentina and Paraguay forums, but there is no activity for the entire year on the Paraguay forum.

Asuncion to SAlta is pretty far. I think the best way would be flying thorugh Puerto Iguazu, but... iunfortunatelly have no much idea about it. The bus ride is too long.
I am sorry. I think I can not be of much help about the rest but NW is my speciality.
Whatever you need to know about the area, restaurants, hotels, places to see,... whatever. I will be happy to help you.
Warm regards,
Angie/Flintstones-

Thanks, Angie, that's what I was afraid of - too long of a bus ride. Appreciate your input!

We got the bus from Salta to Puerto Iguazu which took 27 hours including an hours stop in Tucuman so you would, presumably need to get a differnt bus from Asuncion to Puerto Iguazu which would be a fe hours more - some journey!

Although I love the NW, I think the transportation options are just too limited (and too long) to try and come from Asuncion. Oh well, thanks for your help.
