Argentina in October - what to wear?
 

Any advice on what to pack for a trip to B.A. and Mendoza in early October? Any advice on what do wear during the day and at night (how dressy)? We will be doing a whole range of activities including wine tasting in Mendoza and lots of day trekking in B.A. Thanks!

Our first visit was late Oct/early Nov.
I took a lot of black and white .. jeans are ok ..
They are fairly fashionable here, the latest trends etc.
Keep in mind that it can be sunny and warm and at night the temps can drop enough for sweaters or a light jacket. And being spring still, you might get a rainy day.
Comfortable shoes for miles of walking.. it is a very walkable city..
Probably one nice outfit for any fancier nights out but over all, in parrillas and cafes and casual restaurants , nice casual works. I don't wear jeans out at night, I generally wear a lot of black but that might just be me :- )
Watch the weather underground to see the temps up til you leave..

I was there in late September/early October last year and you could get a wide range of weather. It could be rainy or overcast during the day or quite warm and shorts weather. Nights will likely be cool. I got by with a windbreaker at night for the most part.

I was in Mendoza last October (towards the end of the month though) and it was HOT! I think it was hotter than usual but it was definitely in the 90's during the day. It might have even hit 100.

That being said - I think if you have a few dresses you can wear during the day and a few sweaters to throw on at night you would be fine. BA was rather rainy when I was there and I was happy to have a trench coat with me for our time there. It was never below 70 though.

Mendoza was super casual and depending on where you go in BA I found it to be anywhere from casual to a bit more formal. Our brunch at Alvear Palace was the most dressed up I got the entire trip though.

yes. but if you go to a nicer restaurant you might want to dress up a bit.
