argentina

We have ten days in Argentina during May and were thinking of visiting the falls, Salta, and Machu Picchu. I was advised the while an amazing trip it is rather far and expensive to add in to the ten days. Can any one offer some advise please.

10 days to visit Buenos Aires ? the fly to Salta ? and then fly to Iguazu Falls ? and then to Machu Pichu?
I think you might want to whittle down your destinations.
If you are coming only to Argentina, the Falls is a 2 day/1 night trip to make it worthwhile. And you would want to fly rather than spend hours and hours on buses.
I would skip something .. Salta and Machu Pichu ..
Keep in mind that Argentina is huge and it takes a long time to get anywhere and flying is the best / quickest way to get around..

For a change, I absolutely agree with TA DE Scarlett!

Machu Picchu isn't even in Argentina, it's in Perú.

Your post suggests Buenos Aires is NOT included in your travel plans.

If that is the case, your plan COULD be possible, but I would advise against it, anyway. Do just Iguazú and Salta and have a relaxed, wonderful time.

If BA IS included in your ten days, add just Iguazú OR Salta.

Whatever you do, you'll have a great time in our country.

Thanks for your help. I wnt to see as much as we can but I don't want to be so busy that we miss the experience.

We will also be in Cordoba dove hunting for five days and I was wondering if you knew anything about land tax charges and if that is a normal charge.

Your posts are not very clear. Is the 5 days in Cordoba included in the 10 days? In your other post you say you have 4 days for BA not included in the 10 days. What are your total number of days in Argentina and how many days have you allowed for Perú?

Wow you guys are awesome as I am learning the ropes. We are in Cordoba from May 6th to to the 9th. We them have from the 10th to the 14th in BA. We are then available from the 14th to the 25th. Our flight leaves in the evening (May 25th). I am learning about clarity on the forum. So we like cultural and natural places. We are jeans and tshirt kind of people and really just love the cultural experience of travelling. This is why we are wondering if perhaps we have bitten of to much with the Machu Picchu trip.

As you know, I agree with the last part of your post.

Yes, I think your plans are too ambitious. With the number of days remaining after Cordoba and Buenos Aires I think you should enjoy the other places you wish to visit in Argentina. Getting to Perú, acclimatising in Cusco, visiting Machu Pichu and returning would, in my opinion, take you at least 5 days. You could do it, but it would make for a much more hurried trip. If you stay in Argentina you would have time for both the falls and Salta or a visit to Mendoza.

Dear Kataway; Ambicious, unreal and mortal I would say. I know you wan tot cover the most as possible but I would leave Machu Pichu for the next chapter, and concentrate in Argentina. Buenos Airea - Iguazu - Salta wold cover ten days with an enjoyable itinerary. Salta needs at least five days to see Cafayate, the salt flats and Humahuaca Gorge. The distances are big and the time is flies when you enjoy.
Have a great time!
