Airfare

Wondering if people usually use online websites, like Orbitz or use a travel agent for int'l travel. I usually use a travel agent, but am considering an online purchase as the fare is much better. Looking for thoughts, ideas, suggestions? Thank you.

I have used Orbitz and Travelocity for my international flights to and from Ecuador before. One important factor to keep in mind: sometimes it works out cheaper to book a ticket in sections. (example: Toronto to Miami, and then a seperate booking Miami to Quito). You can certainly save $ this way, but your connections aren´t guaranteed if the first plane is late, as they treat them as two seperate tickets.
