Advice on what to see on side trip from Sao Paulo

Hi,

I am visiting Sao Paulo on business in March and am looking to tack on a 3-4 day side trip while in the area. Last time I visited in 2012, I did a side trip to Rio and it was great!

I am considering either going to Iguacu Falls or Buenos Aires as a side trip. I'd welcome any advice!

Thanks!

It all depends on what you're looking for on this side trip. Sao Paulo has great places to visit that are up to 3 hours drive from the cities: there are the beaches in the North Shore (litoral norte) such as Camburiu, Maresias, Ilhabela and Ubatuba; there are the mountains near Campos do Jordão (not so nice in March), there are caves in PETAR state park, etc.

Iguacu Falls is always a safe bet, with 2 flights daily from GRU, about 2 hours flights. BA is a totally different story, but has become really popular among locals to go down there for a couple of days or long weekends. If you still haven't been there, that would be my choice!

cheers
