A question....re $100 entry fee??

We have read and re-read all the great info on Fodors in preparation for our 4 weeks trip to Argentina and have a question: We hold Australian passports and are aware that we have to pay a $100 single entry fee on arrival at the Pistarini Airport, however we are contemplating a day or two visit to Uruguay, and perhaps crossing into Brazil at the Iguazu Falls, is this fee also collected at these points of entry?

I understand that after you have paid on arrival, that's it. Furthermore, I believe this "reciprocity fee" is, at this time, only collected at Pistarini airport.

Have a great time in our country.

Check if you need a visa for Brazil.

Thank you for the prompt replies. Good to know I have more money for shopping!

The entry fee is only being collected at EZE. Thus, if you go to the Brazilian side of Iguazu for the day, you will not be charged when you re-enter Argentina, because you are not doing so via EZE. Similarly, when you go to Uruguay and return, you are not doing it through EZE.

I believe you will need to pay an entry fee to get into Brazil. They don't require a full visa to enter as that takes weeks to acquire, but they do make you pay to enter.

Brazil requires a visa, obtained before travel, for some nationalities. US citizens need a visa, EU citizens do not. You either need a visa or you do not. Some people have taken a taxi to the Brazilian side of the falls without a visa but you risk being detained and paying a large fine. There is no pay on the spot entry fee.

That makes sense, "they do make you pay to enter" does not.
