8 hour lay over in Sao Paulo

We will be flying from South Africa to Buenos Aires but have a 8 hour lay over in Brazil. We need suggestions as to what to do in those 8 hours. Are there any city tours that we van do. Kindly assist.

What passport do you hold? Do you need a visa for Brasil? Cost?
So, an 8 hour layover? At what hour? Traffic, especially at rush hour or in rainy weather, can be bad. An hour, up to two hours worst case if lots of planes land at about the same time, to get through passport control/customs. Are your bags checked through to BsAs? Or do you have to claim them and recheck? And give yourself time to be back at the airport sufficiently ahead of an international flight, say 2 hours like in most places.
So you have maybe 4 hours to get into town, look around, and get back. Best case travel from airport to someplace safe and interesting in SP is an hour. If it's rush hour or raining, could be much longer, closer to two. You can take the shuttle bus or a taxi.
Depending how all those factors above work out, you may have a couple of hours to look around. S.P. is a business center, not particularly full of tourist attractions, though. You can explore a neighborhood, possibly upscale Jardins with shops, cafés, the MASP art museum, Trianon park; or Vila Magdalena; or the Japanese neighborhood of Liberdade; or you could go up to the viewing floor in the Banespa building or the Edificio Italia to see the view of endless skyscrapers. Get some lunch at one of the nice restaurants SP is known for.
Alternatively, you could get a day room at a hotel with pool in the town of Guarulhos near the airport.

Happy travels.

Thanks for the reply. The airline changed it flight time and we will now land at 4am and depart again at 12.15. Difficult time to do a city tour. We do not need a visa.

There are a couple of hotels in the airport, as well as a number of them in the town of Guarulhos, if you prefer a room to camping out at the airport.

If not a room:
