10-14 days in Argentina

My first foray into S. America. I am a US citizen, if it matters for visas. Want to see BA, Patagonia, Iguazu Falls. Anything else that can't be missed. Love food, nature, want to see glaciers. Would consider adding another country if needed. Please recommend an itinerary. Thanks.

That's a pretty broad area when you include Patagonia. Patagonia is an enormous area, covering both Argentina and Chile. We spent almost three weeks in southern Patagonia alone. Traveling between all these places takes time and with 10 days not possible but 14 doable though it will be rushed. As far as Patagonia goes, if you want to see glaciers then you need to go to Southern Patagonia to El Calafate. If you are into nature and want to do some hiking then you could include a few days in El Chalten from El Calafate. For Argentina you will need to pay a reciprocity fee of $160 USD. You don;t say what time of year you are planning on going as that would make a big difference for Patagonia.

You can have a look at our trip report from Patagonia here:

or here for the blog that includes pictures (days 3-8 include El Chalten and El Calafate)

I can do 14 days. Hoping to be there in April beginning. I know last minute. Not into hiking. Should I bother with Iguazu Falls, having seen Niagara Falls?

"Should I bother with Iguazu Falls, having seen Niagara Falls?"

Yes, absolutely. See:

For glaciers, El Calafate. See:

You'll have to fly between locations.

Completely agree with all the comments above. IF is far superior to Niagra.

Eleanor Roosevelt's words on seeing Iguazu - "poor Niagra".
