Discount for house rental
My husband and I are thinking of visiting Provence for a month next year. When renting a house in Provence for a month do owner's normally give a discount and what is percentage?

There is no "normally." Owners do whatever they like and can do. But I certainly wouldn't expect a discount just because you're renting for a month. Lots of people do that. Some owners might, but you'll just have to do your own research on individual places to find out.

If you are renting in high or mid season, the likelihood of a discount for a monthly rental goes down, but as has been stated (by an owner), its up to each owner. We have encountered some in the same period who require a minimum 2 week rental. It certainly doesn't hurt to ask for a discount however--but no "normal" percentage is prevalent.

Again, as a former owner, I can say that it depends. If the owners can fill the house easily, they may not be interested in giving a discount. Check their advertising, ask - but dont expect that they will.
