6 Days in Switzerland - 4 days or 8 days pass ?

Our plan is like this:we are 2 adults and 2 kids aged 13 and 10.
Mar 20 th - Reach Geneva after flight by 1:00 pm, take train to Lauterbrunnen via Bern.
We are staying in Lauterbrunnen for 5 nights. ..i.e 4 full days.
Planning to make day trips from there depending on the weather ..to
1. Jungfrachou
2. schillthorn , trummelbach falls.
3. Bern city tour
4. Lucern - mount .Rigi ( read it is free with swiss pass is that correct?) and visiting lucern town.
5. Will Trip to Zurich be possible?
After this, on 25th morn will checkout from LB and take golden pass to Geneva via montreux ( plan to visit chillon castle , using the luggage lockers in montreux station .will the castle be opened on sundays?).. then heading towards geneva....if possible make a quick tour of Geneva.
Mar 26th ..heading to Paris in TGV.
So, this is our plan ..it's 6 days.can someone suggest me ...whether to go in for 8 days swiss saver pass? Or whether to go in for 4 days pass and buy separate tickets for the 2 days...will it be cheaper? We are planning to buy 1st class pass. Already made seat reservation for the golden pass travel on 25th march.
Thank you all in advance.

Hi pranathi,

You may find that the Swiss Pass is too much for the travel you intend to do. To make sure you get the most economical option, you/someone has to do the math.

Use the Swiss rail site to get all the fares for all of your trips -- it's at

www.rail.ch

Then add them up and compare to the various passes and discount cards.

I've always found the Half Fare Card to be the most economical option for my own travels. It costs 110 chf and gives you half off everything that moves for one month.

Have fun as you plan!

A four-day Flex Pass ( Saver, with 15% discount) will fully cover four days of travel and give you 50% off the rest. Use the covered days for you first, last, and two other most expensive days. Ask for the free Family Card and your children will travel for free with you, even up the Jungfrau.

Hi all, thanks for your inputs.
I checked with the rates for the swiss pass in rail europe ( we are in dubai)
swiss saver pass 4 days - 300 Euro
swiss saver pass 8 days - 434 Euro
swiss saver flexi 4 days - 350 euro
swiss saver flexi 3 days -287 Euro
Will ask for the family card also.
Will it be economical if i take swiss 4 day flexi pass , and plan for 2 days of 50 % off? Any way my 1st day from Geneva to Lauterbrunnen via Bern and the last day from Lauterbrunnen to Geneva via Montreux in Golden pass will be covered for free. And i'll coose the other two days for Jungfrachou, and Mt schillthorn.but i'll have to pay 50% for the inbetween trips to Bern and Lucern, Mt rigi trip which is free with swiss pass?
Instead will buying the 8 days swiss pass and travel for free thorough out will be the best option?
Suggestions needed.

Hi again,

I suggest you do the math to see how much pass, if any, that you need.

You can get all the individual fares at the Swiss rail site

www.rail.ch
