Downtown Los Angeles Restaurant for Lunch

Does anyone know of a relatively inexpensive place to have lunch in downtown L.A.?

How about the Original Pantry? http://www.pantrycafe.com/

Fair amount of history there as well.

Clifton's Cafeteria, on Broadway, is a piece of L.A. history. Google it for the history. My parents used to take us there back in the 60s. We loved going there. Happy Travels!

Where are you staying, what day of the week (many inexpensive places that cater to the workday lunch crowd) and what kind of food do you want?

The Original Pantry is really not good for lunch.

If you don't mind taking a DASH bus or walking, Little Tokyo on first Street has some good options, I like Suehiro Cafe, a traditional Japanese cafe. At Olvera Street I like Luz del Dia, and I also like Phillippe's.

Around the Bonaventure, I like Border Grill (check their menu for lunch prices) or in the same complex La Salsa or George's Greek. There is also a Mediterranean place off the pool deck inside the Bonaventure.

Around Staples Center it's more problematic because so much is chain junk, expensive or not very good. You might check the menus for Yardhouse and Roys.

If you give a bit more info I can make some other suggestions.
