I need some advice to coordinate one night in Phuket (December 23rd).
I will be arriving in the afternoon at the Phuket/Rassada Pier (from Ao Nang).
I am looking for a nice hotel that's near nightlife since it's my birthday. (But hopefully nowhere seedy with drugs...I've hear some negative things about Phuket.)
The only catch is that need to get to the Phuket airport the next day for a 10:30 am flight to Chiang Mai.

Any advice about which part of Phuket would make the most sense to stay in?
And any specific ideas about hotels and great restaurants? As for hotel price, maybe something between $100-$200 US?

Any thoughts about Phuket Town? Since it doesn't seem quite worth it to go to one of the fancy resorts for only 1/2 day.

For a 10.30am domestic flight you will have to be at the airport around 1 hour prior to departure so you can basically leave from any hotels on Phuket island at 8.30 and be there with time to spare. I would choose whatever hotel you feel comfortable with for rates/breakfast etc.
