Portland - The Nines hotel

This hotel is offering an introductory special rate of $99. In the past we have had great luck with Priceline in Portland and Bidding for Travel is showing 4* bids at about $60 for our timeframe. TripAdviser has pretty good reviews for the Nines. We would like something downtown. Thanks for any feedback.

I would try bidding and see. I haven't stayed there, but the location is very good and it is getting good press locally. A poster on TA just posted about it on a thread there, so you might want to read that as well as the official reviews. Even at $99 a night, that is a good rate for a nice hotel in the heart of downtown.

Can you bid specifically for The Nines? I've read that bidders for downtown 4* hotels in Portland often end up in The Benson. But that was before The Nines opened. It speaks volumes about Portland's economy that The Nines is already willing to let rooms go for $60. I hope you get it!! The Benson would be fine too, though.

beachbum--Very true, says a lot of our economy here, unfortunately.

Hi Beachbum and mms
I just got home from a visit to Portland (my favorite city )
and had a wonderful brunch at Beast. I may have posted this (I can't remember so sorry if I did).
It is worth trying out if you are interested. It is a fixed price meal and mostly meat for the main course. But is a fun dining experience. I would love to go back.

I think I'm the one who suggested Beast to you, nanabee. Glad you enjoyed it!! Did you make it to Navarre?

Oh, and glad you enjoyed Portland again, too.
