I'm visiting my sister in Calgary for Xmas and want to take her to a spa or beauty shop that gives facials...just for a girls afternoon out since she hasn't been feeling too well lately. Wondered if anyone who lives in Calgary might have some recommendations (or names of places) ...as reasonably priced as possible would be great. Thanks to anyone who can help!

A few years ago, I went to a spa day at Oasis Day Spa. It was wonderful, but probably fairly pricey. But you might want to check into it.

The Stillwater at the Hyatt Regency is my favorite. However, both Oasis and Stillwater book up very quickly so if I were you I would not wait to get reservations.

You mentioned in the OP that you would be open to a beauty shop. I go to Victoire Esthetic for leg waxing but have never had a facial done so can't speak directly about that service. However, the staff are very friendly and professional and I've always been pleased. I've been going there for about 7 years now.

They're located on the second floor of a small mall, so nothing fancy, but a clean, friendly place. I don't know what their prices are like compared to the spas.
