Hello everyone,

We will be traveling in Catalonia region and we think we will have time to visit 2 of these 3 places...Figueres, Montserrat or Besalu but just are not sure which 2 to choose. Any opinions?

I haven't been to Besalu, so can't comment on that one. Montserrat is definitely worth a visit. Try to get to Montserrat by the cable car, it's more fun. The only reason to visit Figueres is the Dali Museum, which we found interesing, but the town itself is not anything special.

Besalu is a small, extremely picturesque town..you can see much of it in an hour...what will be your starting point?

Figueres is just a ho-hum town. Haven't been to Besalu. Montserrat should make it on your list.

We were just in all 3 places in April...wish I could locate my trip report for you, but can't.

In brief, Montserrat is worth the trip to hear the boys choir at 1 daily; Besalu disappointed us; Figueres is o.k. if you're a big Dali lover for the Theatro Dali, otherwise, skip it, and think about Girona or Pals or Peretallada or Empuries (amazing Greek and Roman ruins) as better options for daytrips.
