Renting Tom Tom type with AutoEurope

Hi,

We are renting our car from AutoEurope since it was recommended on the forums. We live in NYC and do not have a car but? should we and can we rent a Tom Tom type navigational system with ur our? is this available in Italy/Rental agencies? if so, how much for 1 week?

if not, should we buy one for this trip? it seems a bit steep a price to pay since we do not own a car...

Thanks again!
R

WeddingGirl, did you see this post for a $40 GPS (with rebate)?

http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=35017352

I also live in NYC without a car, but am thinking at this price this would be great to have for all those rental situations!

If you read the first message in the thread carefully you'll notice you need to buy yet one more component which the OP says is available on Ebay for a small amount so it is going to be more than $40.

Still, that is cheaper than buying some other types of GPS units.

I wonder if AutoEurope would guaranteee availability of a car with built in GPS or availability of a rental unit?

I was checking for the same thing yesterday on AutoEuropes website.

They offer a GPS for $85 per week in
addition to the rental.

Seems it would be a good way to try
before buying.

HI WG,

Before worrying about a GPS, what is your driving intinerary?

Better yet, what is your itinerary, period?

Perhaps you don't even need a car!
