South America

Hi,
First time post-er here, hope you can help. My husband and I are planning a trip without our one-year old daughter (yay!). We live in New Jersey and dont want to go too far (Europe, etc.) or too expensive. So we were thinking about South America. Any ideas? We LOVE adventures, and we are not sit-on-the-beach-all-day people. Please help.

I think you should probably post this on the South America forum - this is the Europe one...Click on "Talk" at the top and the list of various forums will appear so you can select the right one...

This is not the right forum for your question. This is a discussion board about travel in Europe. As Amanda says, try the South America forum and you'll get lots of response.

However, I wonder why you think Europe is "too far" from New Jersey and South America isn't....

OK - you need to do two things:

1) re-post on the South America forum

and

2) Look at a world map/globe. New Jersey to London is approx 3400 miles, NJ to Paris approx 3600, and NJ to Buenos Aires is approx 5300 miles.

Well - you don;t give us any clue as to what you want to do - so no one can really help you much.

But I know that with a 1 year old I would be much more likely to go to europe than SA - not only because it's so much closer - but because the traveling is generally easier and less adventurous - unless you're counting a resort in Mexico as South America.

janisj, you beat me to it. From here in the mid-west, a trip to Rio de Janeiro is very comparable to a trip to Tokyo.
