Anyone know a good lunch restaurant in Gordes?

One more question for you Provence experts! Is there a good restaurant for lunch in Gordes? Fodors doesn't recommend one, but Frommers says Comptoir des Arts or Mas Tourteron. Has anyone been to these (or have another suggestion)?

We had a really good lunch at Le Provencal in mid-March. This restaurant is right on the main square in Gordes. It's not a fancy place, but serves authetic Provencal food. Many locals seemed to be eating there. I've got a review posted here: http://www.slowphotos.com/photo/show...y.php?cat=3394

Last year we had a special lunch outside of Gordes at L'Estellan, a totally different kind of place. See my review here: http://www.slowtrav.com/france/resta...;s=les+imberts

I know Mas Tourteron is also highly regarded by many.

Hi,

We had a very nice experience at Les Bories a while back. Small-ish dining room, great welcome, very fine food.

I can vouch for the restaurant Kathy recommends - it's Le Provencel and it's right on the square. I also think the restaurant at La Mayanelle (a hotel just below the square) is great - don't know whether it's open for lunch, but they may let you take the sun and some drinks and snacks on the balcony if not. Worth checking into, thought.

Just below Gordes, on the main road that goes down to the route nationale, is a small inn, La Ferme de la Huppe. The dining room there is excellent.
