anyone familiar with *Allgegiant Air*?
Anyone familiar with *Allegiant Air*? They're based out of Vegas but will
soon be expanding into a couple
of our nearby airports.
Apparently they frequently sell
one-way tickets, and appear
to be similar to Southwest.
They also fly MD 80s - aren't those
older?
Any experience with them?
TIA.

One of my roommates fly from Springfield, MO, to LV on a Friday night. He said it was no more or less horrific than any other airline/airport on a Friday night...From their website:
At Allegiant, all travel is ticketless, all fares are one-way and a Saturday night stay is never required. With a focus on leisure travel, the company emphasizes low- costs, innovation and leisure traffic to world-class destinations – currently Las Vegas, NV. and Orlando, FL.......Best of Luck!

This is realy is not related to a Cruise but since we just did a family trip taking 9 people to Orlando and Allgeiant is one of our discount carries I'll point out a few things. 1) If the flight doesn't fly say friday it could be till there next flight goes again Sunday. Not good if your trying to catch a cruise. I was concerned we had a house booked for a week but gambled. 2) On our return there was weather problems and they wouldn't fly till they decided to fly. Which was 41/2 hours later. On the way home the taxi man said planes had been landing all afternoon. Don't know but you might be taking a gamble if you don't have a lot of time to waste.
3) The flight it self isn't bad but you pay even for a coke. Not good when there airports are out from anything else and have to sat in the airport for many hours. Good luck

Any new experiences with Allegiant Air? They are starting service TRI-Sanford (Orlando) shortly with $59 each way. (Their darn website charges $7.50 per person "convenience fee." Aah, the hidden charges of LCCs!)
