Nice or Cote D'Azur

I am going to Nice in Sept. Would you recommend an apartment over a hotel or vice versa?

I might not be the best person to answer this; I've been to Nice a couple of times briefly, but I never stayed in a hotel there.

Still, you did say "or Cote d'Azur", so maybe you haven't decided for sure where you want to "base". You may need to provide a little more info to get better advice - - how many people traveling together? need more than one bedroom or bathroom? staying how long?

In any event, I have stayed in three places near Nice, and from my limited experience, I'd take all rhree over Nice itself (but I am NOT a "city person&quot.

So, if nothing else, here's a "top" to your question... and I'll be interested in reading replies.

Best wishes,

Rex

Bringing your message back up "to the top" since you are (somewhat) new here... how do I know that? click on your own name - - it's a valuable tip that Fodors fails to tell you when they send you that intial e-mail confirming your registration...

FYI, Nice is smack on the Côte d'Azur--which is in Provence (a lot of people get confused about this!).

The decision about an apartment versus a hotel would depend on your length of stay and how much you want to spend.
