Quiet Beaches within a few hours drive of Orlando
My family and I will be travelling to Orlando next month, and would like to spend a day or two at a nice quiet beach. We hate the types of beaches where you have to spend 40 minutes looking for a place to set your towel. lol! We don't mind driving a couple of hours each way and are open to sugestions. Any information would be a big help.
-Thanks

One of the quietest beaches, with lovely sand and water, is on Caladesi Island -- Also there's Honeymoon Island, a little more busy. Both are on the Florida Gulf Coast not far from the Tarpon Springs area. But please, wait till the next hurricane passes and ask again. Good luck.

We usually go to Anna Maria Island near Sarasota. It is absolutely beautiful there, and there was hardly anyone on the beach at all last July when we were there. We stayed in a small bungalow that was just a stones throw from the water and the view was even more breathtaking. Absolutely no crowds at all and beautiful turquoise water with quiet gorgeous sunsets. We are heading back there this weekend for a week ---at least we are supposed to be. The trip is paid for, so I am hoping for the best...
