South Beach Hotels . . Need Advice
Okay -- we are looking for reasonable-priced ( but I realize its peak season), clean, not run down, hotel in a good location in South Beach.
So far I have the following names of places which I can secure deals for 1 night between $130 - $175 approx.
Please give comments, recommendations if you have stayed or know anything about them.
1. Marseilles
2. Haddon Hall
3. Tudor Tower and Suites
4. Waldorf Towers
5. Kent Hotel
Some of these might not have a pool but are close to ocean front which is just as okay for my mom ( who has the reqmt )
Thanks in advance!

I would immediately scratch Haddon Hall and Waldorf Towers off the list. Dumps, plain and simple.
Of the remaining properties, the Marseilles is ocean-front. The Kent and the Tudor are a block from the beach. None would be my first choice-- and they get very mixed reviews on travel websites-- but the Marseilles should be acceptable for one night....

rjw . . .
Any thoughts on something under $200 ish that would be acceptable? I am willing to shell out a bit more for something that won't make me want to die.
I have tried going "cheap" before and been disgusted by dead bugs on the wall etc and dont' ever want an experience like that again.
Thanks for candid feedback. Let me know your thoughts on most affordable yet acceptable in your opinion.

I think finding something reasonable for one night only will be problematic, especially in the High Season. If there's any citywide festivals (say, the Winter Music Conference or the Boat Show), it will be even harder.
Must you stay in South Beach? You might find deals farther north, although you then forego having cool things to do within walking distance.
