Hi j2r4s.
I agree with Ira. I recently did research on air v. train from Paris to Venice, and found that air was both cheaper and much less time intensive. Of course, you will then need a hotel for one more night.
Good luck!

If you do decide to do the overnight train (the so-called "Artesia" service, see if you can get the "matrimonial" compartment which has an actual double bed in it rather than an upper and lower.
Otherwise, if you stay within whatever luggage weight restrictions there might be the idea of flying might be a better one.

Just a suggestion, as perhaps you have your heart set on Paris immediately after the wedding. But you may be underestimating how exhausted you will be, especially the first couple of days.
If it were me, I would skip Paris altogether, and save it for the first anniversary trip. Fly into Milan, and spend the first couple nights after the wedding in the very romantic Italian Lakes, where you can relax and unwind a little. Skip the long train ride, and what will be essentially be 1 1/2 days in Paris.

Paris is such a wonderful city...I just love it. But if this were my trip, I would eliminate Paris. Two nights is just not enough time to make the stop worthwhile.
I would fly into Venice and add the two nights to Venice.

I agree on skipping Paris But if you must,
for the rest of the time, I'd stay 1 night in Florecne, rent a car, 3nights in Tuscany driving towards Rome, and 3 nights in Rome. Tuscany is wonderful and will give you some smaller towns in combo with all the cities you are visiting.

I spent my honeymoon in Paris. If you can only have one place to eat there, eat at the Cafe Neuf (spelling?) right next to the opera house very good and very romantic. Alos go to the Louve. Make sure you take a gondola ride in the evening in Venice. In Rome be sure to see the Sistine Chapel. All the restaurants along Piazza Nuovo in Rome are excellent and very inexpensive. Evening walks in all three cities are fabulous. Raffael's in Venice is a very good restaurant. Also make sure to listen to the competing orchestra's in St. Marks square (be careful if sit in a chair they charge you about 10 dollars for a bottled water)
