Las Vegas-Stratosphere-new ride!!!

Has anyone ridden the new thrill ride atop the Stratosphere?? Their website doesn't show any live pictures, just an artist rendition. Is it done? I think it's called "X-Treme"? Where can I find a picture? It looks all sorts of scary!!

Friends rode it a few weeks ago at Stratosphere. They said it was VERY scary but they wanted to do it again!

But the big question is -- was it as scary as staying in a room at the Stratosphere?

Ask the locals about the nuts and bolts they have found on the sidewalks near the Stratosphere before you decide on the new ride.

I watched people ride the X-Scream last week. It looks outrageously scary--especially when the arm suddenly DROPS and there you are hanging over the top of the tower. However, the riders looked unfazed and claimed that the people screaming the loudest were actually the spectators, not the riders!

It only opened 6 weeks ago and it has malfunctioned a couple of times, according to some people there.

ok what makes me really nervous is that it only opened 6 weeks ago? Is this true? We were in Vegas in October and it was scheduled to open on Halloween night. WE planned to ride when we go out in April but if there was that long of a delay in opening I am not so sure....anyone know why it didn't open on time?

x-bell, i think the "locals" mistook nuts and bolts for crack vials and syringes.
