Swedish cycling

It's that time of the year when Bilbo plans to tour a European country by bicycle. It wants to be flat, 35 km per day from a major airport to a major airport (the same one will do) with plenty of accomodation available. 2 to 3 weeks available in June.

I have found https://www.cykelkartan.se/en/ and https://swedenbybike.com/en/bicycle-...pes=cycleroute but need to overlay with some accom maps. What is the best accom website in Sweden?

All feedback welcome. If Sweden doesn't work out it will be Estonia

There aren't many major airports in Sweden, there's Gothenburg and Stockholm, that's it.

There are direct flights to smaller airports such as Växjö from Stansted, bad news its on Ryanair. But it could be a good destination for you if you can get past that. Örebro is also served by Ryanair.

I assume you'll be staying one night in a place and moving on next day? How does it work? There are alot of campsites in Sweden that have wooden cabins you can book for the night, its very popular and sometimes they are by lakes.

Midsummer is 24 June this year, that means things will get booked up at that time.

Thanks balthy, do the Swedes also have a post University party with little hats etc like they do in Denmark, if so what date?

We normally book B&B or hotels (too old for the whole ground sheets and camping stove thing) looking at booking.com there are such things along the way. Is there a Swedish accomodation tool or a Betundbike thing or even a B&B tool?

Midges? Is there a date when it becomes unbearable?

Yes they have the same thing as in Denmark but I don't know the dates. You could ask over at TA

There are several B&B websites, this is one of them: https://www.bedandbreakfast.eu/en/c/2661886/sweden, AirBnb is quite good as well. Read the descriptions well as some do not have private bathrooms. Some of the regions have their own websites with ideas for accommodation eg https://visitskane.com/experiences/unique-living. https://visitsweden.com

Ticks are a hazard from about now in the south of Sweden, they are a real risk in the countryside. Mosquitoes can be quite bad depending where you are, midges are a minor problem in comparison.
