Costa Rica 10 Day Itinerary Feedback
Hi all,
We are planning a trip to CR in Dec 2023 from Dec 22- Jan 1 (22nd and 1st will be travel days). We are 3 families of 4 each - 2 adults, 2 kids eah family. Kids range in age from 11 to 19. Here is the rough itinerary we came up with that I would love some feedback on.Day 0: 22 Fly LAX to SJC
Day 1: 23 Stay in SJC
Day 2: 24 Drive to Oso Peninsula (Drive time : ~7.5 hours)
Day 3: 25 Stay in Oso
Day 4: 26 Stay in Oso
Day 5: 27 Drive to MonteVerde (Drive time: ~6 hrs). Stay in Monte Verde
Day 6: 28 Stay MonteVerde
Day 7: 29 Drive to La Fortuna. Stay at La Fortuna
Day 8:30 Stay at La Fortuna
Day 9: 31 La Fortuna and head back to SJC
Day 10:1 Flight back from SJC
Does this sound like a reasonable itinerary or does it seem like we are cramming in too much? Should we reduce a place or replace a place for some other for this trip?
Any recommendations and feedback is appreciated.
Thanks.

1. It's Osa with an A.
2. Those are very long distances to pack into 10 days.
3. You've underestimated drive time on Day 5. If Day 2 requires 7.5 hours to get to Osa, then you need that time to drive back to San Jose, plus the 3 hours beyond to get to Monteverde. I'd plan on 10-11 hours or more on the road that day.
4. I don't know. I think La Fortuna and Monteverde are similar enough that I'd choose one or the other, but not both.
5. If you are booking your own flights and are plugging in airport codes, it's SJO. Don't type in SJC, That'll get you a ticket to San Jose, California.
