Where can we get a COVID-19 test in Paris for return flight to the United States?

Any pharmacy will do it free of charge.

This link will let you search Paris for pharmacies and other places where you an get an antigen test and in some cases, the opening times, how long the results take, whether you need an appointment or not and who can get the test. You will need a test certificate with the results.

They even offer pre-departure tests at the airport.

Thanks for all your help.

Janisj, how long does it take for that airport test? It would be great if we could get the results in under 30 minutes.

I am also shocked that a COVID-19 test would be free at any pharmacy in Paris. I doubt an American could get a free test. However, we can afford to pay.

We leave for Paris on July 12 from JFK.

The tests are free for the French, the homeless, illegal aliens, people from other countries... EVERYBODY. You will often see that people are requested to bring their "Carte Vitale" -- French health card -- but this only concerns residents and only because all medical procedures are loaded into the microchip and the national system of health data. No card, no problem. They will test you anyway.

Covid tests are free in France, Norway, Denmark, Montenegro and Malta. In all of the other countries, get your money ready -- 300€ in Sweden, 100€ in Spain, 200€ in Finland, 40€ in Italy, 80€ in Germany, 47€ in Belgium and Luxembourg. As you can imagine, quite a few people cross the border into France to get their test.

The deficit of the French health system is expected to be 35 billion euros this year, but health has no price.

If the above post is referring to COVID tests for travelling i.e. you get a test lab report with your results as required by the country you are travelling to, your test will not be free in Denmark and your test will not be as expensive as EUR300 in Sweden. Those kind of tests are done in private clinics where you do not have to have a personal number. You used to get tested on arrival in DK but now if you are fully vaccinated, no test is required to enter and there is no test on arrival. If the test is not for travelling, you can add the UK to the free COVID test list of countries, as you can get antigen self test kits but they are not acceptable for travel purposes.

COVID tests have to be pre booked at CDG, they offer antigen and PCR tests depending on what is required.

In France the self tests are for sale because they are basically worthless. (The French make you pay for any medical item that is deemed worthless.) But they are free to people on welfare.

Just posted this on another thread -- an 'on-the-ground' report from The Points Guy:

Thats a very helpful link, the missing piece of information is almost always what is on the test report if you get one and there's an example. And the US does not specify that it has to be in English.
