Chile- which 2 regions over 8 nights?

I have 8 nights to plan in March. Yes, I wish there were more. In Chile, I have not been to the lake region, Atacama, or the Ayres region.
I have loved the wilderness and open spaces while hiking through Argetina, Chile and Peru.

Any suggestions for the best combo of two Chilean regions for hiking and beautiful views? I think three regions would be rushed.
Or I can use some specials available now and combine Peru (sacred valley) with a flight to Santiago and one of the Chilean regions.
Thank you in advance.

There is no Ayres region. Could you mean Aysen? I think you want to stick to one area. If you do not know the lake district then there are some wonderful hikes, national parks, hot springs. The weather should still be OK in March - they call March Chile's best kept secret. The Villarica Traverse is a great multi-day hike but would take most of your days just for that. Near Pucon is the Huerquehue hike, cam be done in a day or two. Then Conguillio National Park has various hikes and is a beautiful park. It is easy to get to the area by night bus or flight to Temuco.

I've only been to the Puerto Montt area (by cruise ship) for just a day.. but we used an excellent local guide (Birds Chile) which has a website with some nature trip info
